God Answered

Around 9:45 this evening, we were sitting in bed, eating Chinese takeout and watching TV, when we got a call from the hospital. The nurse told us they were trying to resuscitate Isaac and to come to the hospital. I was crying when I went downstairs to the front desk and told one of the front desk staff (most of whom we've come to know well) that I needed her to find someone to come and sit in our room while Hannah was sleeping so we could go to the hospital. She immediately came upstairs herself and Jason and I left. By the time we arrived, they had his heart rate back in normal range and he was breathing again. The doctor was unsure exactly why he stopped breathing. She thinks his lungs just clamped down and wouldn't open up. When we left, he had just received a breathing treatment to open up his airways and was in stable condition. I was begging God in the car to please not take him. God answered.

My Prayers all with you all. I PRAY that God will heal Isaac soon so he can be home with his Mom, Dad, and Big sister. I have lost a son so I know the pain you are going through. Even though my situation was different I still know what you are going through.
In Christ Love, Michele Nolte

Hi Tiffany - a friend of mine referred me to your website and I wanted to drop you a quick note. Our stories are so similar and I wanted to take a quick moment to share in case I can be of any assistance to you in the future. First, my husband and I both love the Lord and realize that all of these hill and valley experiences of life are for His ultimate glory though days like this make it tough when we stare at the underside of the tapestry. Jim and I suffered through 7 years of infertility before adopting our son Tanner. Tanner was the first "snowflake" in the state of AZ. (Embryo adoption through Nightlight Christian). When Tanner was 2, we decided to pursue domestic adoption. We got matched in Dec of 2003 with a little boy due May 1st. Surprise! He came 15 weeks early on January 17th arriving at 25 weeks. Sound familiar? :). Ty is now 3 and is doing WONDERFUL! There is reason to hope Tiffany. We went through all the normal preemie stuff with Ty and then some: 7 blood transfusions, hospitalized almost 13 weeks in 3 hospitals, severe apnea and bradys, pulmonarry hemorrage, suspected pneumonia, PDA that closed with Indocen, BPD/CLD requiring oxgyen until he was almost a year old, Grade 4 right Grade 2 left IVH and ultimately PVL. On sat and heart monitors over a year and went home on a feeding tube. ROP stage 1 and and several other eye issues requiring 2 surgeries. Bilateral hernias. Diagnosed with CP and sensory processing disorders. Was in PT, OT, ST and VT for his first 3 years. NOW after listing all this, if you have a chance, go to my website and look at our video gallery and take a peak at Ty (I also have his NICU blog posted). You would NEVER KNOW that Ty faced such issues. In fact, he didn't even qualify for developmental preschool! Wooohhooo! God has been so merciful through it all. All these scary suggestions of future issues are not set in stone. God decides and we can put our hope in Him realizing He will choose what is best for His kids (even though sometimes it's painful). If you need to talk to another preemie mom, please feel free to contact me! www.jimanddoni.com

1 Cor 1:27-29 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. (Ty's NICU Dr. posted this verse on his isolette). - Doni

Hey guys, Kurt & are following your life on this blog each and every day and praying for God's healing touch upon your tiny son. We just have to place Isaac in God's hands and say we submit to your will God, but if you could, please heal Isaac and make him healthy and strong. Once you said to me, "Why did God make me so strong and such a fighter?" (or something like that) -- Well, now you know. Fight for Isaac with all your might, Tiff. God has a wonderful and unique plan for him that will not be accomplished without you, Jason, & big sister, Hannah. I know he feels your love and his little heart loves you back too. We love that you made the front page of the paper and the article is amazing! Praying for and with you. Terri & Kurt

Hi Tiffany my name is Carlee I am in the nicu as well. Baby Abbie McVey. We are actually across the hall from you, if it is any incoragement Abbie has been in that wonderful nicu for 94 days now & though it wont get easier you wont be as rattled when he has setbacks or horrible scary moments. Always know that god is with them everystep of the way. We heard the code pink while i was feeding her last night & I asked her to tell Jesus to pray for your sweet little boy. All the babies that are there are living angels & know that every parent is pulling for one another. My prayers & thoughts are w/ you and your family. Who knows, we will probably run into each other at some point!
With much devoted thoughts, Carlee McVey
