Hey, I have good news today! Isaac was extubated this morning (he's off the ventilator) and is back in his 1 liter cannula. We're all very happy about that--including Isaac. They stopped his antibiotics because he doesn't have an infection. They had Infectious Diseases come and double check and they concurred. So, what happened?! They think it was the anesthetic. Since some if it is metabolized in the liver and his liver pretty much sucks right now because of all the TPN, they think it just took an extra long time to get through his system. The doctor said we need to get him into surgery ASAP to get his gut fixed and get him eating. The surgeon came for a visit today and said they would try to fit him in next week. Seeing what happened after such a simple procedure (the Broviac), they are concerned about how he will do after his gut surgery. The doctor was VERY clear today that he will be very critical during and after the surgery. Because he is going into a major surgery already compromised, he will be at great risk. But, the surgery has to be done so he can eat. There are no choices, here. Just faith in a God much bigger than myself and the best surgeon in the world. So, we wait again. At least Isaac is resting fairly comfortably before his big day in the OR.

Thank you to those of you who offered to help with the blog project. I've found a couple people who are already on top of it!

Jason, Hannah and I will be here in Cleveland for Thanksgiving. We want to be together as a family on the day when we are so thankful to have each other. I've heard volunteers make a meal, here, so hopefully it's not pasta. I love turkey and mashed potatoes and....mmm...I'm hungry already! Maybe we'll slip Isaac a leg to chew on...

Love to all. Thank you for your prayers. God is answering!!

Sorry that was me up above! I made so many typing errors...I thought I'd edit and then post! :)

YIPEEE! YAY!! Congrats on everything!!! No ventilator and surgery ASAP! THIS IS BIG! I am so happy for you all. I am sure it is just nice to know that there is finally a plan for little Isaac.

We will pray for Isaac, as I am sure surgery will take a lot out on him. Trust me, we know! It was a year ago that Maylee was finally done with the surgeries and ventilator, and TPN. She was one pooped liitl girl. But she fought, just like Little Issac, and eventually got stronger and healthier. Its amazing what these little miracles can handle!

I pray after this surgery that Isaac can flourish and be close to going home to his beautiful family!

Oh, that little face. And it's sad he was crying. I'm so glad that he is extubated (if that is how you spell it, i can't remember. Now, I will be praying in a big way that the surgery takes place when planned and that little Isaac will do very well. Love the pictures. Thank you for sharing. In Christ, Carol

Isaac looks so much older and bigger when he's howling! Maybe it's just because that't how I am more used to seeing babies who aren't either sleeping or eatting. Prayers for everything to go well, and for a great turkey feast for the Evans clan.
